What do we mean when we use the term Digital Home?

We look at all of the products that we are using today that revolve around acquiring and sharing electronic media content. We are constantly searching for products that will allow us to converge these technologies so that they can be easily used and shared between devices and individuals.

Microsoft's MCE (Media Center Edition), brings your digital photos, digital video, radio, internet access, live television, and personal video recording functions all in one device. As each day goes by more and more add-on services are becoming available as integrated services. You can down load movies from the Internet, listen National Public Radio show, or purchase your favorite songs that you can put onto your MP3 Player to take with you anywhere you go.

The idea of the Digital Home is to bring together the different devices in the home that provides information access and sharing, entertainment and security and control functions. You can control the levels of lighting or heating in your home, view different areas around your home through strategically placed IP Cameras, or spend time in your own personal home theater room.
